I'm guessing you made changes to the original RAW files using UFRaw and now your trying to open them in OM2. Sounds like others have had similar issues with photos processed with GIMP.ĭid you save your RAW photos using the UFRaw program? that could be case with the crashing. Olympus did the same thing for me, it would close suddenly when I tried to open a folder, but only when the folder had a photo in it that I had processed with GIMP. When the reinstall didn't work, that's when I spent the money to get a new program, even though it stretched me thin for a little while. You could use PhotoME to check if there are any problems with EXIF. This might also happen for other image editing software. Apparently in such a way that it causes OM2 to segfault. Do you, by any chance, use Gimp? I figured out it corrupts EXIF (it's a known fact). Let me bring this topic back up, as I had the same problem today.
#Olympus master software 2 for windows 10 update#
So I guess I could rephrase: does anyone know any standalone free RAW converters that produce accurate colors like Olympus Master does? I do not have any photo manipulation software besides Olympus Master and Gimp.ĭo you have the latest update for olympus master 2? So that Adobe DNG Converter might work pretty well if I had Photoshop to plug it in to! As it is now, I cant even get it to open any directories with RAWs or JPEGs. I actually have tried the reinstall already, and it did not seem to affect it at all. I don't know exactly what the problem was, but this was my experience and what worked for me. My workaround was to process the problem images in Lightroom or other program and resave them (I know this might degrade the image quality.) My guess was that Master crashed due to some corruption(?) in image files. It happened when i tried to open certain directories. Same symptoms with both Oly Master and Studio. Have you tried just reinstalling Oly Master? Sometimes files can get corrupted and need a reinstall to iron out the hiccup. Have you tried to reinstall Olympus Master? or you might need to update it. But I use Master most of the time to process my RAW shots. Has anyone experienced this issue and resolved it successfully?Īlternately, does anyone have any recommendations for RAW processing software that is also free?

Then it has happened with folders with 10 RAW files, or only 2 JPEGs, so I dont feel it is related to that any longer. I thought at first it crashed when opening a folder with more than 250 RAW files, I thought maybe it was a size limitation.

There is nothing in these folders besides RAW files and processed JPEGs. I am using the windows version, I am running Vista, and nothing has changed on my computer recently. Recently, Oly Master 2 has been crashing on me whenever I open certain folders to view their contents. Oly Master 2 works fine (a little slow, but its free, so no complaints!), and I have found that the colors are perfect, and when using UFRaw, the colors just do not look anywhere near the same. The problem for me is that I cant really afford to buy one of those programs light Lightroom. I know a lot of people in this group do not use Olympus Master 2, as they have better programs to do RAW conversion and processing.
